This bundle includes fifteen balls of Hayfield Bonus DK in nine Christmas shades - all the yarn needed to crochet along. You'll also receive a link to the free pattern in six parts, with step-by-step video tutorials, when you purchase!
The Gingerbread blanket is a crochet blanket designed to teach you new stitches and techniques, ideal for complete crochet beginners who can follow along with the videos. We begin with the simplest crochet stitches and gently progress through new techniques.
More accomplished crocheters will have fun too, as we introduce crochet colour-work and textured crochet stitches including 'decorating'!

Not having done anything like this before, I am finding the pattern easy to follow. I do have to read it a couple of times when something new but it’s good to know there are videos there if needed. It’s coming out really soft, looking forward to seeing the completed blanket

It’s coming along. I have not crocheted for 50 years or so when my granny taught me how to make squares for blankets using her leftovers. I’ve done many other textile crafts but only learned treble stitch in crochet. I was attracted to this design as it teaches me lots of different stitches all in one project but in steady stages. I have found the videos really useful as it’s like having someone sitting next to you like my granny showing me what to do. I am coming to terms with following the patterns but getting more confident as I go. I feel I could tackle other projects now.

2 weeks in and centre gingerbread house and 3 Christmas Jumper panels completed. Absolutely loving it and learning so much. Some mistakes, wrong turns and redoing along the way but the videos are great. So good when I have needed to slow down or go back to check what to do. The only issue was the light coloured yarns on the white background on the video. It was really hard to see the stitches being made or the completed rows. Hoping to finish on time as it is for a Christmas present. 😁

Favourite crochet along I’ve ever done! Enjoyed every section and such a beautiful design. Change a few colours to make it my own but I love it!

Absolutely love this CAL so much! I’ve never done a CAL or made a blanket before and this purchase has made the process so easy and fun! I will definitely purchase for CAL kits again in the future :) Can’t wait for my finished product, I am on week 3 currently
Bought for 18 year old craft mad daughter who is currently crocheting away on week 2! Clear instructions, well written and enjoyable. Very pleased, thank you.
So far it is going well, I love the step by step videos, so handy and this is why it is my second kit here. My only thoughts for improvement are that there should be a ‘troubleshooting’ section for frequent beginner errors, perhaps at the end of the video- as sometimes I’ve found out only later that I did the stitches too tight to go into, or missed one starting stitch etc! Also would be great to have time stamps on the videos, so I can jump back to the start of row 5 for example, so when I’m doing rows 7-13 I can follow with the videos easily without jumping backwards and forwards; as I find the videos easier than the written pattern.

As a complete beginner I would definitely advise taking your time with it! The video support is very helpful and really excited to see actual progress :-) will be a huge achievement (for me!) when it’s done!

Lovely kit and video tutorials are great!! Only little gripe is the written instructions have too much information and make it harder to work out. Sounds silly but basic written instructions would have been better and clearer in my opinion. I’ve made most of the blanket by just following the tutorials. Stopping and starting them at each step as I go. Has worked out great so far. That’s why I have given it 4stars instead of 5.

It was just a bag of wool, I was expecting instructions, maybe even a qr code for the instructions, this was suppose to be a gift but I am unable to give this to them now

I've only done the first week - love the pattern - hate the yarn. Its not a nice acrylic - its not very soft for the price.

Only just started but the video is clear and easy to follow. The written instructions are a bit bunched up and so not as easy to follow but alongside the video makes more sense. Good quality wool and delivery was quick. I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

I bought this CAL in January as it had sold out before Christmas. I thought I would need the time to make sure it was ready for next Christmas but I'm flying through it! The instructions and videos are just so easy to follow (I'm a beginner)! I'm going to order more yarn when I've finished and crochet up a storm so I can give the blankets as gifts this year.

The yarn pack finally came!!!! I am so excited!
Fortunately my order arrived with all contents intact. However the box was not properly packed for overseas shipping and was badly damaged. I could actually see the contents inside before even opening the box. As I said, fortunately everything was there and not damaged. Had it been other than yarn I doubt it would have been good
Loving my first CAL!! Had a blip with not receiving two of the colours and it was handled beautifully and with ease. I got my two colours quickly and was able to continue on with the project! :))
Love the kit and videos! A big spider did come with it haha, but luckily I saw it when I took the bag out of the box.
A bit behind on the weekly sections but have loved getting in to this project. The videos are really handy alongside the pattern especially when I’m used to all other patterns I normally see being in american terms so the video helps me to stay on track.
