I am seeking a talented and proactive Freelance Organic Social Media Specialist to help grow and engage the online community for my crochet subscription business. If you love connecting with creative makers, building authentic relationships, and crafting compelling social content, this role is perfect for you! Your efforts will help bring joy to crafters, showcase beautiful crochet projects, and foster a supportive and inspiring community of fibre enthusiasts.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Community Engagement

    • Respond promptly and thoughtfully to comments, messages, and inquiries on our social media platforms to foster community and build relationships with crochet enthusiasts.
    • Interact with followers and relevant accounts, encouraging discussions around crochet techniques, project ideas, and subscription box offerings.

  2. Content Creation

    • Independently create engaging, on-brand social media posts using our library of images, tutorials, and product photos while maintaining our warm and encouraging tone.
    • Write captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action that resonate with crafters and inspire them to join the community or try new crochet projects.

  3. Pinterest Management

    • Pin and manage content on Pinterest to drive traffic, inspire creativity, and highlight crochet patterns, tutorials, and subscription offerings.
    • Curate and organise boards that reflect our love of crochet and the vibrant, supportive world of fibre arts.
  4. Influencer Outreach

    • Research and identify crochet influencers and creators whose values and aesthetics align with our brand.

    • Reach out to influencers to build partnerships, negotiate collaborations, and coordinate sponsored posts or product reviews.

    • Maintain strong relationships with influencers, ensuring collaborations are aligned with our marketing goals and resonate with our audience.

    • Proactively find and reach out to new influencers each month to expand our network and keep our collaborations fresh and impactful.

  5. Strategy Support

    • Share emerging trends, community insights, and content opportunities to enhance organic growth and engagement.
    • Monitor and report on engagement metrics, highlighting crochet-related wins (like popular posts or patterns) and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media management, particularly organic growth and community engagement.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt to a warm, inspiring brand tone.
  • Familiarity with Pinterest and its best practices, especially for crafts and DIY audiences.
  • Creative eye for selecting and presenting visually engaging content, especially crochet or fiber arts-related imagery.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Passion for crochet, crafts, or fiber arts is a major plus!
  • Experience with Canva or similar content design tools.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and tools like Later, Buffer, or Hootsuite.
  • Familiarity with crochet communities, trends, or influencers.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.
