May - Pomodoro Baskets Box

When crochet meets the kitchen garden

May's box is now open to new subscribers! Subscribe by Friday 8th May to make sure you don't miss out on this box...

The Pomodoro Basket box

There’s something about tomatoes that instantly brings to mind warm kitchens, sunlit counters, and those small, joyful moments at home.

This next Curate Crochet Box is inspired by exactly that feeling. Introducing the Pomodoro Basket Box, a playful, practical project that brings colour, character, and a little slice of Mediterranean sunshine into your home.

It’s a project that’s fun to make, beautiful to style, and beginner friendly. And this month, it’s made even better with yarn spun from recycled plastic bottles - soft, durable, and kind to the planet.

Two baskets, two styles

This box includes patterns for two coordinating baskets, each with its own personality.

The Tomato Basket
A shorter, wider basket featuring the word tomato worked in surface crochet, with a tiny crochet tomato sitting neatly in place of the letter o. Simple, bold, and just a little bit playful.

The Check Basket
A taller, narrower basket with a classic check pattern and a cluster of crochet tomatoes on the vine. Slightly more decorative, but still super practical.

Together they make a fab pair that work beautifully styled with plants, used as catch-all storage, or filled with yarn and works in progress!

What’s included?

We’ve packed the Pomodoro Basket Box full of everything you need to create these gorgeous baskets:

A project with personality

The Pomodoro Basket Box is all about small details that make a project feel special.

These baskets aren’t just for looks: they’re sturdy enough to be used every day, whether in the kitchen, as a yarn catch-all, or wherever you need a little cheerful storage.

You’ll learn:

  • How to crochet in the round
  • Tapestry crochet

A little Mediterranean sunshine

This box is designed to feel like a small creative escape. A hint of summer, simple stitches, and a project that is playful, practical, and full of colour.

It’s a crochet project that feels like sitting down in a sunlit kitchen, planning your day, and making something you’ll use and enjoy.

Is this project for me?

Absolutely! Every one of our boxes comes with a 16-page printed pattern booklet, step-by-step photos and an exclusive video tutorial, typically 60 minutes long.

So no matter where you are on your crochet journey, you'll find everything you need to help you make up this month's box.

I'll walk you through each skill and technique in turn in the video, so that we make along together.

Am I tied into a subscription?

Nope! Curate Crochet Box is designed to be super flexible. All our projects are revealed each month before your renewal date, so you can skip a box if it's not your cup of tea, or if you are busy that month. Or you can cancel anytime if you need to - all from your own account.
