There's something about summer crochet that just has my heart! With a big, easy breezy stitch and fun fruity handles, this box is all about the yarns! Plus, it's very beginner friendly.

Introducing... the Watermelon Sugar beach bag

Join us in July to make this super-summery Watermelon Sugar Beach Bag using just three entry-level crochet stitches and two yarns. It’s a perfect pick for a beginner and a lovely, meditative project for a more experienced crocheter to escape into.

The body of our bag uses raffia yarn and a 6mm hook. Raffia is such a lovely yarn for summer, and with such a chunky hook it works up in no time.

The straps use a smaller hook, but just one yarn! Our clever watermelon yarn is self-striping, which means you only need to crochet one stitch and the fruit pattern will emerge on it's own - magic!

Everything you need to make July's project will be included in the box, from the yarns to the yarn needle, and two different sized hooks.

The entire Watermelon Sugar beach bag uses just the three entry-level crochet stitches: treble crochet, half treble crochet, and double crochet, meaning this bag is super beginner friendly!

Or, if you are more experienced, a lovely meditative project awaits.

What crochet goodies will I receive?!

Our boxes come with everything you need to make the project, plus a 45-60 minute video workshop where I will make along with you. So no matter where you are on your crochet journey or skill level, I've got you!
Included in July's box is...
  • A 16-page mini magazine, including the printed pattern booklet with step-by-step pictures
  • A 45-60 minute tutorial video walking you through the pattern
  • Two signature black and gold crochet hooks
  • 2 x balls of raffia yarn
  • 1 x ball of self-striping watermelon yarn
  • Yarn needle
  • Plus any other accessories you'll need to make the project...!

What you'll learn

In July's box we'll be using some really simple stitches to create a standout bag.

  • We'll be using the raffia yarn to make the body of the bag, crocheting in the round
  • The strap is the worked row by row and attached last, which we'll work through together step by step

You'll learn all the techniques needed to create the Watermelon Sugar beach bag using our step-by-step pattern with pictures, and there's also a 45-60 minute video to accompany it if you are more of a visual learner.

I've never made anything like this before, is this project for me?

Absolutely! Every one of our boxes comes with a 16-page printed pattern booklet, step-by-step photos and an exclusive video tutorial, typically 45-60 minutes long.

So no matter where you are on your crochet journey, you'll find everything you need to help you make up this month's box.

I'll walk you through each skill and technique in turn in the video, so that we make along together.

Am I tied into a subscription?

Nope! Curate Crochet Box is designed to be super flexible. All our projects are revealed each month before your renewal date, so you can skip a box if it's not your cup of tea, or if you are busy that month. Or you can cancel anytime if you need to - all from your own account.

How do I join Curate Crochet Box?

If you are already one of our subscribers, you don't need to do anything! The box will be posted to your door with everything you need to make it. If you'd like to join, make sure you sign up before 7th July, when orders will close on this box.

Or, if you are looking for a present for the yarn-lover in your life (or yourself, we're not here to judge) you can purchase a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month gift subscription too...
