Dewdrops beaded pencil case
February’s project is all about the subtle beauty of beads. When I discovered this really simple way to add beads to crochet I was so excited I had to create a project to share it with you...
The dewdrops case uses a calming base colour, gentle greens and a little glitter of gold to create a case big enough to hold your hooks, pencils and other crafting bits. You know how I love a useful project.

What’s in my box?
February's box includes...
- 2 x 50g balls of cotton yarn
- 1 x cotton zipper pencil case
- 2 x crochet hooks
- 2 x packs of beads
- 3 x crochet sayings pencils
- 1 x reel of thread
- 1 x pack of easy-thread needles
- The printed pattern with step-by-step photos
- A video tutorial link
As ever, I'll include a printed pattern, step by step photographs and a video tutorial, so no matter how you like to learn - I've got you covered!
What techniques will we be using?
The stitch pattern used to create the Dewdrops case is a beautifully simple one. We'll add the beads as we go using a clever technique (no pre-threading the yarn needed) and work the case flat in rows. It will then be attached to the cotton pencil case with a basic running stitches, avoiding having to sew in a tricky zip! Phew!
