I'm thrilled to announce that I have collaborated with Sirdar on a new Crochet Along (or CAL) for Christmas! I've designed the Gingerbread blanket, a free pattern which I hope you love as much as I do. Read on to find out more about my inspiration...
The crochet along will be starting on the 16th of October and will run for 6 weeks, with a new part of the pattern released each week.

How do I join in?
Step 1 - Get the pack
Grab your yarn pack from Sirdar, or your local yarn shop
Please note if you are visiting Yarndale in September or the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace in October this year, I will have blanket kits for sale on my stand at both. Please do let me know if you would like me to save you one!

If you want to sign up after this date you absolutely can, it just means that previous weeks will already be available to access!

My Inspiration
I was so thrilled to be asked by Sirdar to create another crochet along! Following on from the success of the Blossom and Buds spring blanket, I wanted to create something super fun and Christmassy. And I'm so in love with what we have created for you!
Inspired by vintage Christmas packaging, biscuit tins, and some of my favourite Christmas traditions, the Gingerbread blanket was born. I must confess that I'm not a great baker, but the one thing my family and I do always manage to do it to decorate a Gingerbread House (sometimes pre-bought, don't judge me!).
Over the 6 weeks of the CAL we'll be donning our Christmas jumpers, decorating our gingerbread houses and adding all the sweets and candy canes we can handle. From striped candy cane sections (hello, red and pink!) to gum drops and giant peppermint swirls, I can't wait to dive into Christmas and see your beautiful Gingerbread blankets! I can smell the cinnamon already...
Is the CAL for me?
The Gingerbread Crochet Along is the perfect, relaxing Christmas make. Crochet a blanket over six weeks, with weekly patterns and accompanying videos to follow at your own pace.
This bundle includes fifteen balls of Hayfield Bonus DK in nine pretty shades. All the yarn needed to crochet along as well as a special woven label.
The Gingerbread blanket is a simple crochet blanket, ideal for complete crochet beginners. We begin with the simplest crochet stitches and gently progress through new techniques.
More accomplished crocheters will have fun too, as we introduce crochet colour-work and textured crochet stitches including 'decorating'!
Each week, beginning 16th of October we will release part of the pattern free of charge, alongside in depth video guides.
